Challenge description:

Diversity in the workplace offers greater creativity, innovations, a richer employee experience and other benefits (https://onlinemba.wsu.edu/blog/10-benefits-of-diversity-in-the-workplace). Following the stereotypes regarding suitable candidate or synthetical attempts to guarantee the diversity might lead to discrimination cases. The assurance of equality, despite the candidate’s gender, age, religion, ethnicity, disability or other personal traits is an important and challenging task. The first step is identification of potential discriminating circumstances and proper reaction to it.

One of the areas, where potential discrimination cases could be indicated is the job advertisement portals. While searching for new candidates, organizations provide requirements for the candidates in the job advertisements. The advertisement text might include some specific requirements, not relevant to persons abilities to take the position. However, analysis of advertisements is a resource consuming task. As well the list of possible actions regarding suspicious cases is limited.

This challenge looks for technical idea, how to automate the job advertisement monitoring and identification of potential discrimination cases. As well we encourage to step forward and add some ideas on how to use the collected data to change the situation and go towards more equality-oriented society.

Use your technology knowledge and do not forger the creativity. Try to define the architecture how to collect the advertisement data and how to estimate if it contains some discrimination related elements. Consider, maybe some reputation or gamification-based solutions could motivate the organizations and the society to take some actions against the discrimination cases.
