The 4th MERIThON in organized on the 7th of May 2025 in Tallinn and goes beyond its traditional format. It will be integrated into the Modern Materials and Manufacturing 2025 (MMM2025) conference, hosted by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) on May 6–8, 2025. Organized in synergy with MMM2025, the MEEIThON is designed to foster collaboration like never before. By uniting students, researchers, and industry professionals under one roof, the joint initiative aims to spark innovative solutions for digitalizing modern industry.
The MERIThON event is a key part of the MERIT Master’s programme — a European-wide initiative focused on development of advanced digital skills. During the ideathon session, MERIT students will actively contribute to real-world industrial challenges. They will apply their knowledge and creativity to develop forward-thinking industry and society digitalization plans.
About MMM2025
The Modern Materials and Manufacturing (MMM2025) conference is a global forum focusing on:
- Industry 5.0
- Robotics & Manufacturing Engineering
- IoT, Digital Twins & Additive Manufacturing
- Materials Engineering, Powder Metallurgy & Tribology
The event aims to foster cooperation between academia, industry, national competence centres, and funding bodies. It serves as a platform where researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and students can exchange ideas, present their research, and discover practical challenges faced by the industry.
Focus of MERIThON TALLINN
The Tallinn MERIThON focuses on:
- Information sharing about curriculum development in Industrial Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity
- Presenting experiences from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Spain
- Gathering feedback on existing programmes and generating new ideas
- Involving students as active participants in the development process
Presentations and panel discussions will address how educational programmes in fields such as IoT, AI, and Cybersecurity are evolving to better meet the needs of industry and society.
