Challenge #03: AI-driven solutions for society’s challenges

Artificial intelligence has become a trendy technology and enterprise representatives dedicate resources for its implementation. While the public sector has a bigger scale and impact on society, usually it lacks funding for its modernization. Therefore, it is important to estimate the priorities for innovations in the public sector. As well as new idea generation from the citizens is relevant as well. Therefore, the challenge invites to investigate the possibilities for AI-driven solutions in the public sector and propose new ideas on how to utilize AI to increase global well-being.

The direction for the challenge ideas, which could be converted into multiple final thesis or individual project topics is the following:

  1. Maturity level estimation of public sector services and their potential for AI application.
  2. Discrimination indicators detection in the web published text data.
  3. Analysis of multi-modal data to indicate citizen experience level in different city regions.
  4. Funding/investment needs prediction for city regions, based on available public data.
  5. Potential applications of machine learning solutions for textile recycling
  6. Potential applications of Deep neural networks for water quality prediction and water treatment
