As part of our Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to engage at least four contributors annually from SMEs, companies, industry associations, and employees in the co-creation and continuous improvement of our master program, we are organizing a Follow-Up & Co-Creation Session. This meeting provides a platform to review achievements, showcase how industry input has been integrated into the curriculum, and discuss future collaboration strategies.

This course is specifically designed for professionals and companies that operate or manage industrial environments and want to gain a clear, practical, and strategic view of control system security. Through a compact and dynamic format, you’ll explore the key foundations of industrial cybersecurity, the IEC 62443 standard, and best practices for protecting OT systems and critical infrastructures.

On 21 November 2025, the MERIT Project successfully hosted its Hybrid International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, welcoming 81 participants joining both on-site in Romania, at TUIASI – Faculty of Industrial Design and Business Management, and online from multiple European countries (Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, and Spain). The event once again demonstrated strong engagement from SMEs, higher education institutions, cybersecurity specialists, and students eager to explore the evolving cybersecurity landscape and contribute to MERIT’s education and skills development activities.

From September 4th to 6th, 2023, Riga, Latvia became a hotspot for innovation, with the BalticAIHack event attracting international talents eager to push the boundaries of GenAI. Among the participants was a team of students from the MERIT program (five girls from VILNIUS TECH study programs Engineering of Artificial Intelligence and Management of Artificial Intelligence Solutions). The MERIT study program members formed a team, which included all of them and additional member from another institution, representing business part. This team, working under the name “AlumniCareerAI”, tackled a crucial challenge in the education sector, blending their technical prowess and interdisciplinary knowledge to solve a problem faced by educational institutions worldwide: tracking alumni career outcomes.

After almost 8 months since the meeting in Tallinn, the MERIT project is coming together again this time in the Latvian city of Riga from May 13–15, 2024. Situated in the heart of Riga, Riga Technological University (RTU), was the host of the project meeting and the campus offered an ideal setting for a meeting of ideas and thoughts.
