[14.03.2026] UPC Manresa to host the 6th MERIThON, an innovation event open to everyone. Join us!

Next Saturday, March 14, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) in Manresa, UPC Manresa, will host a new edition of MERIThON (6th MERIThON), an international hackathon linked to the European MERIT project (Master of Science in Smart, Secure and Interconnected Systems) and to the Master’s Degree in Machine Learning and Cybersecurity for Internet Connected Systems taught at UPC Manresa – EPSEM.

Throughout the day, from 8:45 AM to 8:00 PM, students, professionals and technology enthusiasts will work in teams to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges related to Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT).

MERIThON is much more than a competition: it is a space for collaboration, learning and creativity, open to participants from different backgrounds and levels of experience. Advanced knowledge is not required to participate; the goal is to encourage idea generation and teamwork to address current technological challenges.

During the event, multidisciplinary teams will propose and develop solutions to the challenges presented by the organisers and collaborating companies. At the end of the day, a jury composed of professionals and experts from the technology sector will evaluate the solutions and several prizes will be awarded to the most innovative projects.

The event is also designed as an opportunity to connect emerging talent with the business world, fostering interaction between students, professionals and companies linked to the regional technology ecosystem.

MERIThON is part of the MERIT project, co-funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme (grant agreement No. 101083531), which aims to foster advanced digital skills and foster collaboration between universities, companies and innovation centres across Europe.

The event is free of charge, with breakfast, lunch and refreshments included, and is open to anyone interested in technology and innovation.
