Successful Hybrid International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, Organised by MERIT Project

On 21 November 2025, the MERIT Project successfully hosted its Hybrid International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, welcoming 81 participants joining both on-site in Romania, at TUIASI – Faculty of Industrial Design and Business Management, and online from multiple European countries (Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, and Spain). The event once again demonstrated strong engagement from SMEs, higher education institutions, cybersecurity specialists, and students eager to explore the evolving cybersecurity landscape and contribute to MERIT’s education and skills development activities.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC), represented by the UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC), took part once again in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 (SCEWC25), held from 4 to 6 November at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via. Recognised as the world’s leading event on urban innovation, this year’s edition achieved record-breaking attendance figures, with over 27,000 visitors, 1,200 exhibitors, and more than 650 international speakers exploring solutions for smarter, greener, and more liveable cities.

Great success of the “Bits & Blocks: Let’s Explore Mars!” workshop held at UPC Manresa as part of CodeWeek

On Saturday, 25 October 2025, the TechLab Manresa at the UPC Manresa hosted the successful “Bits & Blocks: Let’s Explore Mars!” workshop, a fun and educational activity aimed at children aged 7 to 11. The workshop was held within the framework of the European CodeWeek and was organised under the MERIT project (Master of Science in Smart, Secure and Interconnected Systems), with the support of PUCRA Manresa volunteers.
