The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (DSJP) has highlighted MERIT as one of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) projects contributing to a more connected European digital skills ecosystem. The article 5 years of DSJP: DEP projects building a connected skills ecosystem, published to mark the fifth anniversary of DSJP, includes a testimonial from Darja Bubnova of Riga Technical University (RTU), representing the MERIT project. 

On 16 June 2026, the MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) took place in hybrid format, from Manresa, Spain, and online. Following the successful MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop on Artificial Intelligence held earlier in June, this IoT session, hosted by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) in Manresa, UPC – EPSEM, marked the final workshop of the three sessions in 2026.

On 1 June, the MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop on Artificial Intelligence took place online, hosted by Riga Technical University (RTU), Latvia, and was met with strong engagement from participants. Organised within the framework of the MERIT project, the workshop brought together 30 participants, including MERIT project partners, students, and representatives from industry and academia.

On 7 May 2026, the MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop series on Cybersecurity took place in a hybrid format, on-site in Trento, Italy, and online. Organised in the framework of the MERIT project General Assembly, held in Trento from 7 to 8 May and hosted by Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), the workshop gathered over 50 participants, including MERIT project partners, members of the MERIT Advisory Board, and experts from industry, academia, research organisations, and innovation ecosystems across Europe.

The TechLab at UPC Manresa was once again filled with enthusiasm, curiosity and female talent on Friday, 24 April, to mark International Girls in ICT Day. The event, organised within the framework of the MERIT project, brought together 4th-year secondary school and 1st-year upper secondary students from INS Castellet with the aim of encouraging technological vocations and helping reduce the gender gap in the digital sector.
