[16.06.2026] MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) | Online Event. Join us!

The MERIT project will organise the International Industry Engagement Workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) in June 2026, bringing together representatives from industry, higher education institutions, research organisations, and students to explore the latest developments and applications in the IoT ecosystem.

The workshop will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, focusing on how IoT technologies are transforming industries by connecting devices, systems, data, and people. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and researchers while discussing how IoT innovations are shaping the future of digital technologies and engineering practices.

Through presentations and discussions, the event aims to highlight real-world IoT applications, emerging technological trends, and the skills required by future professionals working in this rapidly evolving field.

Exploring IoT in Practice

The workshop will focus on the practical implementation of IoT technologies across different sectors. Industry representatives and experts will share insights into current projects, technological solutions, and challenges encountered when implementing IoT systems in real-world environments

Participants will gain a better understanding of how IoT solutions support data-driven decision-making, automation, and smart infrastructures, while also addressing challenges related to scalability, interoperability, and security.

The event will also create opportunities for dialogue between industry professionals and higher education institutions, contributing to the ongoing development of the MERIT study programmes and helping ensure that educational content reflects the evolving needs of the digital economy.

Why Participate?

By joining the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • engage with industry leaders and IoT specialists
  • discover innovative IoT applications and emerging technology trends
  • learn from real-world case studies and industry experiences
  • contribute to discussions shaping the future of MERIT educational programmes
  • explore opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry

The workshop will be recorded and shared through MERIT communication channels to support wider dissemination of knowledge and insights.
