The MERIT Project continues to equip individuals and professionals with cutting-edge knowledge through its diverse range of short courses. These programmes are designed to enhance expertise in various technological fields, including AI, cybersecurity, and organisational transformation. On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Digital MERIT was represented by Digital Innovation Zone at the webinar Boost the Impact of Digital Europe Projects, organized by DEDEP.eu. This webinar had over 120 participants, all eager to explore how dissemination and exploitation strategies can amplify the impact of Digital Europe Programme projects.

On November 13, 2024, the International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, organised by the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative in collaboration with the MERIT Project, achieved a remarkable turnout with over forty participants joining both in-person and online. The workshop was held within the framework of the Deep Tech Skills Days 2024, bringing together experts, academics, and SMEs from across Europe to explore cutting-edge cybersecurity challenges and opportunities.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC), represented by the UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC), participated actively in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 (SCEWC24), the world’s biggest and most influential event on urban innovation, held from 5 to 7 November in Barcelona. This year’s edition attracted over 25,000 attendees, with 1,150 exhibitors, 632 speakers, and 261 sessions.

After the project meeting in Riga earlier this year, the MERIT project team reconvened online for a full-day General Assembly on October 18, 2024. This digital gathering brought together partners and Advisory Board members from across Europe to review progress, align on strategic goals, and discuss new initiatives for industry collaboration and digital learning.

On October 22, 2024, the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (DSJP) of the European Commission held an open session for projects funded by the Digital Europe Programme (DEP), providing an opportunity to explore how DSJP’s resources can expand access to digital skills and training across Europe. Digital Innovation Zone was there to represent the Digital MERIT project, leveraging DSJP’s resources and community to boost visibility and engagement.

MERIT Project is announcing the upcoming International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, scheduled for November 13, 2024, at 14:00 – 15.00 CET.
This event will take place within the framework of the Deep Tech Skills Days, organized by the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative along with the MERIT project that will enhance participation by taking charge of the workshop’s online component allowing students, experts and companies to join remotely.

The MERIT project, co-funded under the Digital Europe Programme, continues to make strides in advancing digital skills across Europe. A highlight of this initiative is the success of the short-term courses offered at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), as part of the MERIT programme. These courses provide a unique opportunity for professionals and students to gain critical knowledge in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), business analytics, and system integration.
