The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Cybersecurity is transforming industries and nature of work worldwide. To keep up with the evolving trends and ensure our study programs remain relevant and impactful, the MERIT project is conducting a crucial survey. This initiative aims to assess current and future technologies and trends, gathering insights to bridge skill gaps and enhance educational programs.

Why your input matters

AI, IoT and Cybersecurity are reshaping industries by optimizing processes, improving efficiency and resilience, and fostering innovation. However, the skills gap varies significantly across sectors and regions, particularly considering the experience and the readiness for innovations. For instance, AI applications in healthcare necessitate knowledge of data privacy, security, and ethics, while social media-focused AI requires expertise in data noise reduction, bias mitigation, and sentiment analysis.

By participating in this survey, you contribute to highlighting the current industry needs and updating the MERIT master programs to ensure that the next generation of AI, IoT and Cybersecurity professionals are well-equipped to tackle real-world challenges.

Identify the key technologies, topics and application areas driving advanced digital skills across different sectors, starting from those highlighted in industry and academia (extracted from research papers and statistics, reports and forecasts).
Understand sector-specific skill requirements.
