MERIT Showcased Among UPC’s Pioneering Technological Projects at MWC 2025
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) has unveiled its latest technological innovations at MWC Barcelona 2025 (MWC25), the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event. MWC25 hosted 109,000 attendees during a transformative week of industry-defining launches and high-impact collaboration, highlighting advancements in mobile technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
Represented by the UPC Technology Centre (CIT UPC), the university’s stand attracted significant attention for its contributions to next-generation mobile technologies. The UPC showcased a range of pioneering prototypes and projects exploring AI, 6G technologies, intelligent connectivity, and the future of autonomous systems.
One of the standout projects at the UPC stand was MERIT and its new master’s programme, presented through a dedicated corporate leaflet and a QR brochure specifically designed for MWC Barcelona 2025. Additionally, the MERIT project video was displayed throughout the four-day event. With this prominent presence at the UPC stand, the MERIT project gained substantial visibility and impact at MWC25, reaching several local and national SMEs that were introduced to its vision. The UPC stand also served as a hub for discussions, fostering new collaboration opportunities.
