A New Cohort Begins Their Journey in the MARM Master’s Programme

In the autumn 2025, a new group of students has started their studies in the Industrial Engineering and Management (MARM) master’s programme, marking another important milestone in the continuous development of advanced engineering education at TalTech. The programme brings together engineering, digital technologies and management competences, preparing students to address the challenges of modern industrial systems.

The MARM programme is designed to respond to the growing need for specialists who can combine technical expertise with systems thinking and data-driven decision-making. Students gain knowledge in areas such as production systems, industrial robotics, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and process optimisation, while also developing strong analytical and managerial skills.

The new cohort reflects the international and interdisciplinary nature of the programme. Students come from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, contributing to a dynamic learning environment that encourages collaboration and exchange of ideas. Teaching is primarily conducted in English, enabling both local and international students to participate fully and preparing graduates for careers in global industrial contexts.

The MERIT project plays an important role in supporting the MARM programme. Through MERIT, the curriculum is enriched with modern digital learning materials, audiovisual resources, and access to courses developed in collaboration with partner universities across Europe. This allows students to benefit from shared expertise, remote learning opportunities and exposure to different academic and industrial perspectives. In addition, MERIT provides support for the acquisition of equipment necessary for teaching and learning, helping to ensure high-quality practical and technological learning environments.

The programme increasingly integrates practical learning through laboratories, project-based assignments and real-world case studies. These elements help students apply theoretical concepts to realistic industrial scenarios and develop competences that are directly relevant to industry needs.

With the start of the new cohort, the MARM programme continues to strengthen its focus on innovation, digital transformation and international collaboration. Supported by the MERIT project, the programme provides a solid foundation for students aiming to become future experts and leaders in smart and sustainable industrial systems.
