Seminar for improving the qualifications of managers of the Lithuanian Roads Association
Some MERIT representatives from VILNIUS TECH participated in a seminar organised by the Lithuanian Roads Association held on the 23rd of March 2023. This activity of the Lithuanian Road Association was dedicated to increasing the competencies of the association members by improving the qualifications of managers in the main areas of their technical activity in the construction of transport communications.
On request from the association members, a remotely held lecture on the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) was presented by the MERIT member, Pavel Stefanovič, with a double objective: motivating the Lithuanian transport industry to be more active in the application of advanced technologies and getting them to know about the MERIT project and possibilities to collaborate.
As the event was dedicated to non-ITC specialists, but managers in the transportation area, the presentation was oriented more on the presentation of practical applications and examples, rather than deep IoT and AI knowledge content. The event was attended by 86 directors or managers of Lithuanian SMEs or governmental institutions, all of them responsible for decision-making in their organisations in the field of transport.
