According to the European Commission, in the “Shaping Europe’s digital future” (2020) report, over 90% of jobs already require specific digital skills, yet 43% of European citizens and over a third of the EU labour force lack them, so the demand for digital specialists cannot be met.
On November 23 and 24, the annual MANUFUTURE Conference kicked off at the Gipuzkoa Technology Park in San Sebastian (Spain). Some representatives from the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) were invited to attend the event, which gathered more than 100 participants including high-level policymakers, industrial sectors and key societal stakeholders from all around Europe to share ideas about people, technology, and innovation.
LeADS participated in the European Big Data Value Forum 2023 (EBDVF), the flagship event of the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), which brings together the whole European data-driven AI research and innovation community to share knowledge, collaborate, and celebrate achievements. This year’s edition took place from October 25 to 27 in Valencia and was organized under the auspices of the Spanish European Council presidency, in collaboration with the European Commission and local partners.
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC), represented by the UPC Technology Center (CIT UPC), actively participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023, held from November 7 to 9 at the Gran Via venue of the Fira de Barcelona.
On 9 and 10 October, FBK was invited to participate in Skills ®evolution, a live event organised by the European Training Foundation (ETF)’s Skills Lab Network of Experts, which took place in Turin. In this edition, participants were invited to learn, explore, experience and discuss developments related to the identification and delivery of digital skills including ETF partner countries, as well as researchers engaged in a range of innovative digital skills projects, and policymakers.
A year following the launch of the MERIT project, project participants convened in Tallinn on October 3-4 to deliberate on the progress made.
MERIT representatives from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) attended the Manufacturing Performance Days 2023 (MPD2023), which took place on the 5-7th June in Tampere, Finland. MPD23 is Northern Europe’s leading technology summit, bringing together manufacturing industries, researchers, and technology as well as international service providers to meet and exchange insights.
IQForum is organising events for business presenters in various Lithuanian regions. The focus on regions is aimed at motivating local businesses to engage in knowledge sharing, networking, and other innovative business activities.
